In May 2016 Britten Sinfonia make their Chinese debut touring to three cities; Shanghai, Wuhan and Beijing. Resident in Shanghai, the orchestra will perform three concerts as part of the prestigious Shanghai Mini Festival.
For the first Shanghai Festival concert Britten Sinfonia are joined by mezzo soprano Allison Cook and harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani for a performance of Britten’s Phaedra. This programme then tours to Wuhan and Beijing.
The second and third concerts, as part of the Shanghai Festival, see Britten Sinfonia joined by tenor Nicholas Mulroy for a performance of Britten’s Serenade for tenor, horn and strings with horn, Martin Owen, and Britten’s Les Illuminatons.
