Britten Sinfonia's new principal horn

New Principal Horn

Britten Sinfonia is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Owen as Principal Horn.

Concerts Director, James Calver commented “It gives me great pleasure to warmly welcome Martin Owen into the Britten Sinfonia fold. Martin’s star quality shone through during our recent tour to China, and subsequent UK concerts featuring Britten’s Serenade for tenor, horn, and strings.  These flawless performances, alongside his consummate professionalism and an enthusiastic, collaborative approach make him an all-round pleasure to work with, and the perfect candidate for the job.  We’re all very much looking forward to seeing (and hearing) the results of his continued association with the orchestra in his new capacity as Principal and I’m sure he will prove to be an asset to Britten Sinfonia’s equally starry brass and woodwind sections.”

Martin commented on his appointment “I am delighted to join this group of dynamic, outstanding musicians. I can’t wait to get started!!”
