On Monday 15th August, Britten Sinfonia under the baton of Thomas Adès gave the London premiere of Francisco Coll’s Four Iberian Miniatures with violin soloist Augustin Hadelich at the BBC Proms. This work was co-commissioned by Britten Sinfonia and Saffron Hall in 2014 and you can still hear the London premiere via the BBC iplayer.
Britten Sinfonia is pleased to be commissioning Francisco Coll once again with support from the William Alwyn Foundation and donors to the orchestras Musically Gifted campaign. Francisco is writing a Harpsichord Concerto to be premiered by Mahan Esfahani and the orchestra at Milton Court, London and Saffron Hall, Saffron Walden in February 2017.
Individuals can support this commission from as little as £10 via the Musically Gifted campaign. All donors receive their name in the score and are kept up to date with the progress of the new work. To find out more click here.
