Sascha Bota announced as Sub-Principal Viola

Britten Sinfonia is pleased to announce that Sascha Bota is joining the orchestra as Sub-Principal Viola. Sascha first studied with Gérard Caussé at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid and then continued with Thomas Riebl at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg, completing his master’s degree in Solo Viola cum laudae in 2008. In 2012, Sascha was appointed co-principal viola of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, where he had a major role in curating chamber music programmes and education projects. He relocated to London in 2017 and has since performed as guest principal with orchestras such as Aurora, Academy of Ancient Music, London Mozart Players and Philharmonia Orchestra.
