An entrancing performance of choral music curated by Nils Frahm and performed by Britten Sinfonia Voices, interspersed with solo piano interludes.
Britten Sinfonia Voices draws out the rich layers and textures in choral pieces by some of the greatest Russian and Russian-influenced composers, including Igor Stravinsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Arvo Pärt, with St Giles providing the perfect setting for their rich, resonant harmonies.
A nod to Nils Frahm’s interest in music from ex-Soviet countries and choral music in general, this session allows you to explore this side to his influences, via the music of some of the most important composers from Eastern Europe.
