Britten Sinfonia tour Spain in January 2014 with contralto, Claudia Huckle, performing a programme of works which examine Benjamin Britten, his influences and his contemporaries.
The programme will feature Britten’s first who Opuses alongside contemporary works by Thomas Adès and Oliver Knussen. Britten Sinfonia will also perform works composed by Britten’s influences: English Baroque composer, Pucell, his teacher, Frank Bridge and long term collaborator, David Matthews’ arrangement of Mahler’s Rückert Lieder.
