War Requiem

To mark the centenary of Benjamin Britten’s birth and the 50th anniversary of the International Organ Festival, this rare performance of his War Requiem brings together a star cast of performers under the baton of Sir Richard Armstrong. Written in 1962 for the consecration of Coventry Cathedral, this monumental work for full orchestra, chamber orchestra, large chorus, boys’ choir and two conductors is one of the highlights of the festival. Experience this profoundly moving work in the spectacular setting of St Albans Cathedral.
