A PLACE FOR MUSIC

Listen to beautiful music, sing along and play a game of “Guess the Piece”. The concert is free and unticketed - just come along. It’s aimed at people aged 60+ and is dementia friendly, although all are welcome.

There is also the opportunity to take part in weekly creative music workshops led by facilitator Caroline Speca and a musician from Britten Sinfonia, starting on 5th February at the Rookery Bowling Club. In the workshops, participants will have the chance to:

- Hear music inspired by places around the world.
- Share their own stories about their journeys and the environment in Suffolk.
- Co-create four original short pieces of music alongside professional musicians from Britten Sinfonia

Whether you’re a music lover, storyteller, or curious to try something new, we’d love for you to join the weekly community workshops. Sessions are free and there’s no need to book – just come along. They are aimed at people aged 60+, but all are welcome. The collaborative pieces will be performed in a celebration concert by an 11-piece Britten Sinfonia orchestra on Wednesday 12 March at the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts, Stowmarket. 5th February | Workshop for community participants at the Rookery Bowling Club, 10am – 11:30am. All welcome.

12th February | Workshop for community participants at the Rookery Bowling Club, 10am – 11:30am.

19th February | No workshop.

26th February | Workshop for community participants at the Rookery Bowling Club, 10am – 11:30am.

5th March | Workshop for community participants at the Rookery Bowling Club, 10am – 11:30am.

12th March | Project Celebration Concert at the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts, Stowmarket, 1pm & 2:45pm. We’ll let you know which performance you will be part of when you come to a workshop.
