Britten Sinfonia and the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge, join together to perform Mozart's iconic Requiem.

Commissioned by an unknown benefactor, Mozart’s final unfinished work became his own Requiem.

The music shows all of Mozart’s operatic flair – from the melancholy opening Requiem chorus, the Lacrimosa’s sad lyrical sighs, to the fear and drama of Judgement Day (Dies Irae). The first performance was given by the same Viennese opera musicians who had premiered The Magic Flute only two months earlier.
