Get ready for Max Richter's Recomposed: Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, which will be performed in the evening concert, with a showcase of a secondary schools' project inspired by the theme of re-imagining music of the 18th century.
Britten Sinfonia has been working with pupils from Thetford Academy and King Edwards VI School on the creations of new works based on another piece from the same period, Handel’s famous Sarabande from La folia.
This pre-concert showcase will feature two new pieces created by pupils from Thetford Academy and King Edward VI School as well as performances of the traditional folk tune The River is Flowing and the Sarabande itself. Pupils will join musicians from Britten Sinfonia and the Bury Friendly Orchestra for this exciting celebration of music-making in the East of England.
The performance will be presented by workshop leader, Aga Serugo-Lugo and will last approximately 60 minutes. Income from tickets bought for this pre-concert event will support the orchestra’s work in schools, hospitals and community settings across the region.
This project has been generously supported by the Thetford Educational Trust.
