Alice Walton (part-time) - Britten Sinfonia

Alice Walton (part-time)

Alice was born and raised in Hull. She read English at Oxford University but spent most of her time there playing the viola in orchestras and chamber groups. After completing a postgraduate diploma in European Cultural Policy and Administration at Warwick University, she worked for Bath Festival and the London Mozart Players, before being appointed as Marketing Director of the Philharmonia Orchestra in 1999. She joined Britten Sinfonia as Communications Director in 2018 and moved to her current Special Projects role in April 2022.

Outside of work, Alice is mostly a taxi service for her children. She is a pretty terrible viola player but wishes she had more time to play in amateur orchestras. She also wishes that she had more time to read books and learn to sew better. She is a volunteer helper at her local Brownies pack, where she goes by the name of Snowy Owl.
