BRITTEN SINFONIA AWARDED £100,000 BY INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR ITS LONDON CONCERT PROGRAMME
We are delighted to have been chosen as one of the recipients of the Cockayne Foundation’s 10th anniversary grants.
The Cockayne Foundation supports a wide variety of high-quality arts projects in London and San Francisco. To mark its 10th birthday it is awarding 10 exceptional grants of £100,000 from its donor advised fund held at The London Community Foundation to arts organisations delivering artistic excellence and ground-breaking programmes in London.
Meurig Bowen, CEO and Artistic Director of Britten Sinfonia, comments:
“From its first grant-giving year a decade ago, we have enjoyed a fruitful partnership with the Cockayne Foundation. Their wish to support ambitious artistic activity has enabled us to deliver some exceptional programming in successive London seasons. We are honoured to have been awarded this hugely generous, transformational grant to support and develop the next three years of our London concert activity, at the Barbican and elsewhere. It is a great endorsement both of the calibre of our musicians and of our continuing artistic ambition, and will enable us to continue bringing our London audiences a range of brand new music, bold programmes and memorable experiences.”
